FREE Game of Thrones Colorwork Charts - Part 4

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: The more I look at these, the more I'm itching to make smaller versions for you people. YOU PEOPLE. Us people.  Only two charts this week - House Dayne and House Greyjoy! I'm personally very fond of House Dayne. I don't know if anyone else is. Are there any others I should make? House Reed maybe? Tarly? The Night's Watch? I'm open to suggestions. I'd also be down for doing some of the alternate Targaryen sigils from the Blackfyre Rebellion and all that jazz. I really do enjoy making charts. Even if no one ever uses them for anything. lulz The full-sized versions of both of these charts are available. Depending on your browser you may need to view the image in a new tab. And they might need some tweaks. I recommend using them for crochet, not knitting, but you can do what you want. I'm not bossy. I've mentioned that I made my brother a Greyjoy blanket (one day I'll take the time to rummage around and find a picture or two o

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: 118 Squares (On Day 117)

UPDATE 2/6/23: If you've for some reason been reading my years-later commentary on these ancient filler posts, you might be aware of the infamous wool square. The single wool granny square that I included in this blanket, which shrank and felted in the wash. Is it in this picture? Nope. lol If you're interested in seeing what I currently have available, meander over to my Etsy !  Technically, I should have 117 squares today (I did some math). Hooray for the Mood Blanket Challenge . I'm a square ahead as of right now, but I'm going to end up another square ahead this coming week. I'm going to be a single square away from finishing a row, so I'll go ahead and make an extra square to get it done. Again. If this were a race, I'd totally be winning. How very riveting! I'm also nearly out of scrap yarn. That's equally riveting. If you're riveted by yarn and granny square blankets, that is. I'm thinking about doing a bunch of the same color in

Crochet Sailor Saturn Status Update

UPDATE 2/6/23: The fact that I did cell-shading with crochet was ridiculous. That is all. I finished up the collar of the sailor suit - I don't know - the week before last. I was planning on doing a bit more work on the Silence Glaive before making a blog post, but instead I decided it was time for a break. I can only look at reference pictures of Sailor Saturn for so long without wanting to stab out my eyes with my crochet hooks. I'm probably going to get back to work next week and I think I'm actually going to dive head-first into the bodice and get it out of the way, but until then...here's a post about the collar! The collar was pretty straight-forward. I was going to do the solid purple collar that the Outer Senshi seem to have in Crystal, but I thought it looked totally boring, so I went back and added the white stripe accents around the edges from the good ol' original anime. This added about an inch all the way around the whole deal, which I think also im

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: Row 6 Completion + Some Updates

UPDATE 2/6/23: This blanket was quite lively. It's been washed many times over the years and since it now belongs to cats, it is less lively. I honestly admire my dedication to providing these updates all those years ago as I worked on it spitefully.  It's another cloudy Monday, so I can't drag this beast outside for a natural light photoshoot on the back deck. It's starting to look like a blanket finally - albeit an ugly one. There are some truly hideous squares in there, which I'm quite proud of. My goal of intentionally making the ugliest mood blanket in the world will surely be met. The sixth row is done plus three squares of the next row. I'm a square ahead of the other nubs doing this, right? I'm thinking I'll stop at ten or eleven rows...depending how much scrap yarn I have left at that point and if I have a blanket-sized blanket at that point as well. I do not need a giant blanket and I am also a quitter. Making these squares is starting to

UPDATE 2/6/23: These are all so big! I must make smaller versions! This week I've got House Arryn, Clegane, Mormont and Tully for you, Internet. Again, these are big charts. They're probably best for crochet projects. None of these charts are tested, so feel free to make adjustments accordingly if anything looks weird. I figure they're at least a starting point. You might need to alternate rows of sc and sl, depending on your gauge and whether or not you carry the secondary color behind throughout or not. If you're using Chrome you're going to need to right-click and open the image in a new tab to get the full-size. Anyway...make stuff. Next week I'll do Greyjoy and something or another else. We'll see. Baratheon, Lannister and Stark sigils HERE   Targaryen, Martell and Tyrell sigils HERE Here's the deal with Clegane. It's three black dogs on a yellow background. I had a major case of lazy and made one dog. You want to have two of the dog

UPDATE 2/6/23: Lord have mercy! Where are the links?! Please, visit my Etsy to see what I have available and check my commission status! If you're looking patterns then I recommend my Ko-Fi , where I also offer a cool monthly subscription! I managed to not fall behind on my mood blanket despite my extreme video game binge. The binge is now over, more or less. I'm going to replay Dragon Age II for my missing achieves and then blunder through Inquisition again to get some different outcomes. I will do this at a leisurely pace that doesn't interfere with my making stuff. Video game chatter is not for a craft blog! Moving on... So here are seven new squares and this row will be finished up this week! Finishing rows is my favorite. Also, look at my scrap yarn bin, which is now a basket! It was a tangled mess that took up a bin about three times the size of the current basket before I got started. I'm hoping to get through all of the little balls of yarn and get rid of

UPDATE 2/6/23: These are enormous. I want to make smaller versions and jam out some House of the Dragon sigils (e.g. that there sea horse of my boy Corlys Velaryon). Follow me on Facebook for updates so you know when I do this. Targaryen, Martell and Tyrell sigils - as promised. The only way to even imagine getting the Targaryen sigil to look decent involved making it huge. Huge. Click for the full-sized images. Don't just click. You probs want to right-click, Open Link in New Tab...depending on your browser. Baratheon, Lannister and Stark charts here . I'm not super happy with my simplified Martell sigil. I didn't want four colors to be in a row at any point, so I decided to nix the outlines...I might put them back. It's doable, but you'd likely have to break off the black outline as a result. Anyway...happy crafting. Like my Facebook page. I need to get back to Dragon Age: Inquisition. Stitchboard

Crochet Cosplay WIP: Sailor Saturn Silence Glaive Blade

Image
UPDATE 2/6/23: I'm going to gather all of my Sailor Saturn posts together and in order in case anyone wants to actually read the saga chronologically.   I can't get my damn text to wrap around my images today, so everything is at the bottom. Sorry, Internet. I feel extra silly calling something made of yarn a "blade," but if this were real life and it wasn't made of yarn then it would, in fact, be a blade. Regardless, I finished it. I find it quite visually pleasing. There's a catch though! Yarn is really heavy. That also seems like a strange thing to say, doesn't it? But think about sweaters. I made a sweater to wrap around some cardboard and duct tape. It's causing the blade to be hilariously flaccid unless it's propped against something, which is a huge bummer - I think I can fix it by seaming the little ornate part under the blade directly to the blade. Most of the flaccidity is happened down where the blade connects to the pole. H

Mood Blanket Challenge 2015: Day 96 or Something

UPDATE 2/6/23: My dedication to frequent updates about this blanket was admirable. My lack of including links to my own pertinents was not. So, Etsy . Also, Ko-Fi . To recap: Mood Blanket Challenge 2015 I'm making my squares from scrap yarn and disregarding my moods. This is helping me get rid of uselessly tiny balls of yarn I've accumulated, but making some of my squares hilariously ugly. I'm seaming my squares with an sc seam and then doing a round of sc around each completed row before sc seaming the rows together. Now, excuse me. I have to go play Dragon Age: Inquisition. Cool updates on less boring things later this week, I promise. BUT FIRST I NEED TO CLOSE THE BREACH AND KILL ALL THE TEMPLARS.

UPDATE 2/6/23: I might make smaller versions of theeeeeeese. I'm putting it on my maybe to-do. I'm not gonna lie to you people, I would love to make a GoT c2c blankettttt. These charts will work for c2c but they're enormous. In the meantime, Etsy . Game of Thrones is coming, so I made some Westerosi-inspired charts based on the House sigils on the show. These are big charts, ideal for tapestry crochet. I personally think they'd be great for making pillows to weep into as everyone you care about on the show dies. You could also make a blanket through your tears and then weep into it uncontrollably as you wait for GRRM to finish writing the series. Click on your desired chart to get a bigger version. And you can also find a chart for Littlefinger's mockingbird pin here , which I made some months ago. It's a small chart that I used for a custom scarf. These charts are untested and might need a tweak here and there if something looks a little funny in fiber. An
